About Us

High Plains Tree Works (HPTW) initially began as a commercial and roadside clearing company called Agriclear in 1995 and worked its way into contractor/subcontractor roles for tree removal services in the central and panhandle areas of Texas. In 2002, our company began to see an emerging need to adopt a “whole-life “ continuum in how we approach tree work since we were working with Heritage live oak trees that were up to 200 years old and the level of public/professional scrutiny was not to be taken lightly when it came to performing Arborist services. The Whole-life continuum encompasses a five-step process starting with Planning, Preparation, Mitigation, Response, and Recovery and all of this can occur on a single tree. With the growing success of our company, we began to realize that our definition of success needed a change due to the ever-increasing requests of services from customers who could not afford tree care but truly needed it. Our company felt that there was a market that was being marginalized simply because it was considered economically disadvantaged and through the efforts of our success, HPTW began to give back to many who could not otherwise afford a professional service to remove hazardous trees. Many of our customers could not afford to pay a single dollar and so we would accept a handshake as payment in full since our company values the phrase “it is better to give than to receive”. Today, HPTW remains committed to providing “whole-life” tree care services to customers needing professional tree services.
